So we have been talking about a writerly life at school the last two weeks. Personally, my goal is to start this blog and use it as an accountability piece to help me take steps toward living a more writerly way. While thinking at length about my "small moments" to write my slice of life story, I decided to instead try my hand at some poetry about the moment I was in-unable to land on ANY thing to write.
words
flying around wildly
I want to catch them,
cage them,
tame them,
and show them off.
words escape me

I love my mom doing my laundry.
I love my mom playing board games.
I love my mom. She loves me too.

My Stats and Other Info
My name is Emily Culbertson. I am in my mid-thirties (cringe).
I live in a small town about an hour from St. Louis, Missouri. Growing up, I lived in the country, close to a much smaller town in Northeast Missouri. I have much to say about that later. Isn't growing up in the country the best?
In my home there are now five boys (four sons and a husband), a lab named Lizzy, the strangest looking cat named Buttercup, and too many chickens. We are a rowdy bunch, quite loud and usually needing a bath. Being a wife and mom to these five boys is a dream come true.
In the wilds of my own youth, I was the oldest of five with two sisters and two brothers. My mom was a single mom for the most part. I have much to say about that later also. I love being from a big family.
I am a teacher. I love it.
